KMTY Plant Factory lands on the research vessel Dayang
In January 2026, the deck container vegetable and fruit factory and an experimental combination planting cabinet produced by Kemet One Company landed on the research vessel Dayang in Xiamen, China. Assisted in the scientific exploration mission of China's Ocean 95 voyage, completing a 4-month exploration of seafloor sulfides in the deep-sea hydrothermal zone of the southwestern Indian Ocean. Provide continuous and stable vegetable supply for the 60 scientists and crew members on board.
This planting system has withstood multiple tests such as continuous ship shaking, high temperature and high humidity ocean climate during this scientific expedition mission. It operates stably throughout the entire process, automatically adjusts various planting parameters, and achieves stable output of leafy vegetables without requiring excessive management effort from crew members. After scientifically planning the daily planting and harvesting plan, it can produce 4-5kg of green leafy vegetables per day, with a maximum output of 6.4kg per plate, greatly improving the dietary conditions for scientific expedition personnel engaged in long-term ocean operations. It has been recognized by all members of the scientific expedition team and provides a new feasible solution for logistical vegetable support in deep and distant sea scientific expedition missions.
This successful application has verified the adaptability and practicality of the marine vegetable and fruit planting system in complex ocean environments, and has also accumulated valuable on-site operational data for Kemet One to optimize product performance in the future, providing reliable fresh vegetable supply support for more ocean navigation tasks.
